When someone is hostile or treats someone negatively due to their race, political or religious beliefs. Persecution is usually systematic and can be carried out by an individual or a group, and can target an individual or a group. During the Holocaust, Jewish people were persecuted by the Nazis due to their religion and the Nazi belief that Jews were an inferior race.
